I’m originally from Queens, N.Y, but I have recently moved to upstate New York, which trust me is whole new world. You definitely need to know how to drive and have a car if you kind of want to have a life and everybody knows everybody. I didn’t even know my neighbors name in Queens! I used to hop on a train to get anywhere I wanted to go in the city and I never had the need to drive, but things change and you need evolve with them. I’m finally getting my permit in my 30’s. It’s been absolutely freezing up here and I cannot wait for the spring so I can frolic in dress and wear three inch wedges. I’m sick of wearing layers upon layers of clothes. This is what went down a few weeks ago where I live, the Polar Bear Plunge. I’m getting cold just looking at this picture.

My current summer fashion muses are Jodi Foster and Cybill Shepard from the 1976 film “Taxi Driver” which also features Robert De Niro and takes place in New York City. Without giving too much away in case you haven’t ever seen it, it’s about a Vietnam vet (Robert De Niro) who becomes a taxi driver because he can’t sleep at night anyway. Jodi Foster is a 14-year-old prostitute and he has a huge problem with that and is hell-bent on saving her.
I’m loving her whole get up in this pic. The high-waisted shorts, the crop top, those red velvet wedges and that hat!

Cute Crop Top
Don’t sleep on Cybill Shepards character Betsy who is Robert De Niro’s love interest in the film. Check out her peter pan collard dress and oversized belt!
Cybill Shepard as “Betsy” wearing the iconic Diane von Furstenberg’s wrap dress.
The wrap dress will never go out of style and this picture proves it! Cybill is actually wearing a Diane von Furstenberg dress in this picture.
I Love “Iris’s” hair
We at the East Coast have to live with obscene weather for just a little while longer. For now enjoy this image of Lana Del Rey ushering in the summer vibes.

If the rest of the year is as amazing as the month of March was I’m going to have the best year of my life! Firstly, March 1-3 I attended a Jivamukti Yoga retreat in Upstate New York. It was peaceful, enlightening and I saw the light and decided to become a vegetarian and any excess weight I was holding melted right off. As a result of changing my diet I felt better, lighter and my skin looks great. If your ever in New York, check out JIVAMUKTI in Union Square and take every class given by Jules Febre and Narayani. They are the best and bringing out the best in you! I wish I could retreat every month.
That was a fantastic start to the month. One of my closest friends Ava Lee Scott is an actor in the celebrated play Sleep No More
She decided to join forces with GIRL BE HEARD(http://girlbeheard.org) which is an organization that helps girls that have been sex trafficked and have been abused by giving them a voice in their theater company. The beautiful girls from GIRL BE HEARD performed songs, monologues and mini plays in the Sleep No More Space. I was lucky enough to be a sponsor and make the girls Lila Juliet headbands.
Me and my friends at Girl be heard. (I’m the one with the turban headband)
If you follow my blog you know I LOVE vintage everything. I’ve been buying vintage in order to sell it on http://www.lilajuliet.etsy.com but I’ve been procrastinating. But not this month! My sweet, beautiful friend Sam offered to model for me and my friend Sima did her make up. If you’re in the New York area and you need your makeup done contact her
This was the beautiful result
